Pull your clutch cover and at the end of the shifter shaft there is a spring that may have broken or is not attached .if all looks good there then it may be internal in the trans itself but in order for the shifter not to ratchet back to position makes it seem as the ratchet spring is the culprit..Pull a microfiche from a kawi dealer and it will show you how the spring should be attached..Good luck.......
