50cc 2-stroke quads - what models were available?

I am going to get my young son a 50 CC quad and of course he will be starting with a 2-stroker. Since these are no longer made by a current Japanese suppliers for the California market (I do not want the Chineses stuff), I will have to find a used one on Craigslist or ebay. All I can find are Suzuki LT50 LTA50. Who else made 50 cc 2 stroke quads and what were the models?

Alos, second choice is to get a PW50 and add training wheels. Did any of the other Japanese suppliers make a two stroke 500 cc bike?

I agree, my son is 4 and he's ready for a bigger quad. He's killin my wallet on tubes and tires. Look at artic cat, I know the '02 90cc is two stroke (I just bought one used $300). I think everything else was 4 stroke. Suzuki lt 50 has been great for us and I have a blast on it!

hey I think hands down the yamaha Y zinger is the best quad in the 50cc its old school with absolutly no susprension but the motors and trannys are bullet proof had one in the family for 20 years and its been rebiult once and we ported it last year too.

I dont know much about the 2 stroker quads but I just got my 6 year old his first pw 50.... was the perfect choice. U can usually pick em up for around 400. No gears throttle limiter and yamaha makes the training wheels. I hear suzuki makes a 2 stroker 50 but im not to sure

My son has a 2004 polaris predator 50. We have had no problems with it and it is kick and electric start. It is not the fastest in stock form, but it will pull me on the trails around our house.

get him a lt80 .. i had one for my first 4 wheeler i even put a dg pipe on it haha i miss that thing.. they run good for a lil 80 and you can turn the throttle screw in until he gets used to it .. i had mine till i was 12 i think lol

yea IMO lt80's are what all small quads should be judged by they are truly kid proof and their are plenty of mods form them when they need more power
