Default Hey guys, new to me bike. First post.

Hey gents, first time on here. Haven't had a dirtbike in quite some time and its just by luck I have one now.

What I have is a junkyard find lol. Maybe someone can help me identify it.

It's definitely a 2-stroker and it fires right up

pull choke, 2 kicks
drop choke 3 kicks and its bangin

it needs some work, but not bad for free I think.

not bad at all for free...considering it runs...
I'm not a big dirtbike guy, but it looks like an early 90's SX....looks like a 250 but I could be wrong...

Default Welcome to E2S

That's great, nothing better than a free bike, a big + when it runs!

Dang straight. My neighbors already hate me, it's a tad loud coming straight out of the collector.

Its a 2005+ front fender and the radiators are newer 2004ish+ so that is a good start. The shock tells me its a mid to late 90's model, and I think they just stuck an old seat on there. With the pipe that wraps around def 90's model and as far as 250 or 300 look at the base of the jug it will tell you. Also I have found websites that will tell you the year of the bike by the frame vin. Definantly awsome for free dude!!!! have fun and good luck!!

One thing to watch that we just found out with the '91 300mxc is that the power valve will go bad meaning the o-rings, bearings and needs to be cleaned if sat for a while.

Thanks for the extra information. I will be tearing it apart this winter and hope to have it back together next spring. It's pretty much going to get new everything.

I think its bigger than a 250 because of the curve on the pipe. probly a 300.
