Well I picked up a basket case 2000 KTM 300exc. Well it turned out to not be a basket case. The previous owner said the bike just started acting odd and would not build RPM's and was making odd noises. He took it to a shop and they tore the motor apart and they told him he needed a new crank and rod set-up. The engine was completely disassembled and the asking price was fairly cheaps so I figured why not a new project, Crank turned out fine and true so I assembled the whole motor to see what was was up. Right away smoke was just pouring out the exhaust. First guess, RH crank seal, well replaced that, re-assembled the bike and BAM, things hauls ass and barely any smoke. Would rather not say the price I paid for the bike but it was well under a G. Heres a few shots if interested,
The power delivery of this bike is great compared to my RM250, much more control and feels like its on rails when turning. I think its a keeper for now.
