So, everything was drained by previous owner. Where should I start? I want to get it running. Pre-mix, add coolant (what type/ratio), gear oil(what type)? I'm thinking I'll just use water in the colling system until I get it running, then I'll add coolant. I'd rather not have coolant leaking if there are leaks. I have Mobil 1 gear oil I used in a street bike, can I add that to the filler above the clutch? Sorry for some dumb sounding questions, but this is my first 2-stroke, and first off road machine in nearly 20 years.

do not use streetbike oil, thats 4 stroke oil, use atf fluid, fill it with the number of cubic centimeters of oil it says on the side of the crank case, its ok to use water as long as its not cold out, you will fuck up your engine big time that way, run 32:1 premix with a high quality synthetic 2 stroke oil, i used honda 100 percent synthetic HP oil. start by cleaning up the thing, clean the carb, inspect the topend, good compression? get some spark, go from there, try sprayin some starter fluid if you have spark and compression, check your carb, does the float float? are all the jets clean and not gunked up? check all the circuits in the carb, make sure the tank is good, petcock lets gas flow fine, what else... nice score on the bike!! its awesome, how much you get it for? also what did the transmition fluid look like when it came out of the bike? if its milky kindof your coolant could have been leaking into the case, keep us posted
