 Ktm 50 oil recommendation?? Hey, I picked up a 2001 or so ktm 50 with the auto clutch today for the kid and am going to go over it tomorrow, full inspection and fluids and stuff. I am aware of the auto clutch maintenance and in the near future I will be inspecting it but for now my question is, What do you guys recommend for the tranny oil, with the auto clutch I'm assuming different weights of oil make a difference. I will get the best quality I can find here but what grade? Still only around 10-15* around here and the bike is not going to be for racing just playing at the local track and camping and stuff. Thanx for any replies...      |

| Well, no replies so I was on my way out for long weekend of some bikin' and went with, "Bel Ray" Gear Saver Transmission oil Sae 80W, "specifically designed for 2 stroke transmissions" Bike didn't skip a beat all weekend long, my daughters first dirtbike experience, step up from quad, she did awesome. Thanx anyway |

| Yah Your right I did some more searching and Atf is the way to go. I read "ATF Super" not sure what that is but I'm sure dexron 3 will do the job. Change of topic, Can anyone give me a rundown on the Auto Clutch setup on a '01 ktm 50 sx senior. It is a 2 shoe setup with 2 springs. I've read alot about setting up a 3 shoe clutch, Is that a performance upgrade from a 2 shoe? Are their any adjustments to make as the shoes wear? If so how? Sorry a few questions, would really appreciate some help, Thanx |

| atf in the trans and i would run silkolene pro 2 sx mixed at about 40:1

| I'm running premium Yamalube premix at 40:1 with 94 octane cause thats what I'm using for my yz 250..  And my other Jerry can is for the 4 strokes..SsssshhhAny opinion on the 2 shoe Auto clutch setup?? |
