How can you tell the year of a bike?
Just bought a 250 from an old lady for 175, didn't run. my dad got it runnin but we are unsure of the year.

If its not to old pre' 88 it should have a 17 digit or so vin on the frame between the front forks. The 10th digit in the vin is your year. It goes by the alphabet until 2001.

J 1988, K 1989, L 1990, M 1991, N 1992, P 1993, R 1994, S 1995, T 1996, V 1997, W 1998, X 1999, Y 2000, (Then numbers) 1 2001, 2 2002, 3 2003 Etc... Hopefully if its older you can still see the vin

thanks, I wil check that tonight. They bike looks like shit, shocks are blown and the guy painted the frame with a can of bright orange spray paint.
The engine runs great so my and my bro was thinking of makin a fast go-cart
