KTM makes the best motor hands down... but have the poorest suspention (Stock) out of all of the manufacturers

the ktm 250sx is the fastes 450 class bike you can buy in stock form.The 450sx is easier to ride(4 stroke) but the 250sx will holeshot most of the times.I have beaten my friends with rmz 450s and crf's in back to back drags and have never lost.Its that ignorant..hehe

No,im talking about the 250 sx motor,its ignorant or it really gets with the program,its almost too violent with the stock 13/50 gearing,i had to go to a 14t counter shaft,big difference,motor is actually rideable now.im about 225 with gear and it pulls me no problem.Ktm doesnt have the worst suspension stock,they dont spend beacoup money for advertizing in the magazines thats why they dont get "good press".The japs arent the only ones that build bikes.Have you wondered whats been winning off road for the past 6 or 7 yrs?KTM,Lafferty,Juha Salimen etc..They make darn good bikes that actually last more than 2 seasons.

ktm's newer suspension is supposed to be as good as the jap bikes according to the reviews..and look at the parts they come with stock..tapered bars,v force 3 reeds, pipe/silencer(fmf with ktm logo), excell rims, magura hydrolic clutch...

my friend's dad has an 05 ktm 300 exc, and this bike is unbelievable for offroad..it can be lugged like a 4stroke in the tight stuff(no fanning the clutch to keep the plug clean) and then once you crack the throttle you have serious 2stroke power the bikes a monster..once i rode that thing i was hooked, im trying to sell my cr125 and get a ktm now..either 05 exc series or the new 06 xc/xc-w series..they are such sick bikes

allright.. I have a ktm 250sx..
i raced multiple yz250s.

mines a 00
i raced a 98. 01 03 and 04.
the only one i had trouble with was the 04.

why?
it has close to 900$ in engine work..

I dont like to jump. Yz is a fairly better choice for landings. But from jump to jump quickness wise..Ktm's win..If you buy a ktm and dont like the suspension. take it to the local ktm shop. Tell them your weight and what type of riding you do. They will set it up that its the same as a cr yz rm kx anythings else suspension.
over this weekend i went to this rally ride which was alot of fun. I was in multiple drag races cause Everyone is shooting for me and my friend with a ktm 250exc

ktm by far has the best engine.. and yamaha has the best suspension for the last couple years.. i might have to drop a KTM 250sx engine in my yamaha chasis :P

off topic: I didnt know the 450r quards could take down some 250cc dirtbikes. If i meet up with a 450r or raptor while on my YZ, ill just let them by

I thought 250's smoke sport quads and i thought 125's could beat raptor 660's. Ah well, i learn something everyday here.

I know dirtbikes arent made to drag but it's fun to know what is what i guess. Too bad none of those races were on video.
