longer rod has nothing to do with it... and a 2mm overbore will not get you 37cc's......

why not? 2.00 over along gives you 262 cc right and a longer rod strokes the motor with gives it more piston travel increasing the cc right? so what would a longer rod give you then?

The longer rod just brings the piston higher up in the cylinder to increase the rod ratio and speed up the engine's ability to build power and rev out faster, more efficient combustion. The only way to stroke a motor is to change the actual stroke of the crank. Remember, saynoto4strokes.

long rod is not a stroker.... it is often called a "poormans" stroker
the reason is because the longer rod gives more dwell time at BDC.. much like a stroker.... this in turn improves tourque....

but you get no extra displacment by going long rod.... the piston moves the same distance....

from my experiance a longer rod used when not needed will actualy reduce power output slightly but will increase longgevity as less rod angel is achieved.

oh, and a longer rod will not increase cc's. think about it. your only moving the piston up futher in the cylinder. at tdc and bdc it is now just that much higher in than it was before.
