| Looking to upgrade the motor soon and was looking at FTZ's kit for the Quadracers. From what I gather they port your cylinder, re-chamber the head and bore the cylinder to accept a re-pinned YZ250 piston. Sounds good but wondering if anyone has this kit or knows someone with it that can toss out some pros and cons. Also, anyone know the stock HP of an '87 LT250R and what I might gain? Thanks a bunch guys, any responses greatly appreciated. Remember, saynoto4strokes. P.S. If anyone had this type of work or porting done by another company definitely let me know of your outcome/feelings. |

| It is $495 for the whole nine yards from what their website says. I might give them a call tommorow. I assume the bore size would be what a stock YZ250 is, but I'll find out. Have you heard anything about FTZ's reputation? As for a Wiseco, I have nothing against them, in fact I love them, it's what's in there now. I just stumbled upon this kit and it comes with this piston kit. Thanks a lot. saynoto4strokes. |

| i just bought a ftz pipe for my blaster and it is bad ass. my brother had his blaster bored, ported, head rechambered and bought their 35.5 carb and it hauls ass. they are sometimes slow on their work, but i think you will be happy with the end result.

| My friend has a ftz lt250r and we both race ice. The pros are that his quad is a little bit faster than mine with the yz piston mod. But he is running more compression since i believe he is running a rm250 head. So it is a bit faster. Bad things are i just dont like the whole yz piston idea. Having to re drill the two pins for the piston rings for different spots on the piston. If you dont it will catch on the intake and you will have catastrophic errors.

| ltracer250r, so are you saying that if your compression ratios were equal your quads would be neck and neck? I would like to keep a 'zuki piston just for the convenience of future rebuilds, not always having to wait for FTZ to do piston mods and such to get one to work. saynoto4strokes. |
