Here's my 85. I paid $300 for it, just had to weld the front of the swingarm, change the water pump gasket and the clutch cover gasket. It needs a rear shock, and I had no rear brakes. Someone also had the counterbalance messed up, fixed that too. I took it out for a ride today, still with the junk shock, but I have $400 in it and it runs great.

Hopefully by winter it will have all new plastic (cant decide on color yet), new wheels and tires, silencer, handlebars, seat cover and maybe fresh paint on the frame.

I paid $800 for an 86 a while back to tinker with for an easy going desert bike. It had some head issues and blew the head gasket and scored the cylinder. I took everything appart and did some wannabe porting on the exhaust and intake to hopefully liven up the powerband. The transfers needed some work but I will need to get a different dremmel attachment if I am gonna play in that area. It looks like the cylinder has had a crappy resleave during its lifetime.

Anyways, it is mainly stock and is at the maximum bore now, with a K&N filter and FMF pipe. I am excited to see how she runs when it is all put together.

Thats a good price for a lot of fun. Easy mods like porting, milling the head, bump steer fix (Bump steer - quadracerhq.com Forums) and camber fix (Front camber mods - quadracerhq.com Forums) really help out. Superevil is right on the lightness of the 85-86 's I stripped mine for sand riding and it weighs ( appx. 275lbs)around 70lbs less than the lightest 450's.
