Smile My New 1988 lt250r

She has seen better days, but the frame and everything except the engine and and plastics seem to be in OK shape. Just in need of allot of elbow grease and paint, but for $800 I couldn't pass her up.

I have given her a wash since these photos a week ago and went out and bought some paint stripper and a buffing kit from harbor freight. Never polished anything before, but want the clutch and flywheel covers polished so I will give it a shot. Wish me luck.

Not to bad for $800 man. A litle bit of elbow grease and she should be looking good!!! Polishing is simple some people are afraid of doing it but theres really nothing to it just take your time with it and get a good clear coat to put on those covers to protect that shine from the elements especially being up there in washington

That will polish up nice. It looked like it needs some parts also. Missing an engine mount bolt and the clutch cable retainer.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Yes she runs. The guy I bought it from said it vibrated a lot this year when he pulled it out. I believe it is from the motor mount bolt that is missing, I ordered that a week ago and is supposed to be here Tuesday. It is also missing the metal spacers for the back lower motor mount. I have those just waiting tell the other parts get here to work on it. The thing does run. I pulled it around from my work shop to the front of the house to wash/degrease. The pics I took are before I washed it, not that its looks a whole lot better but did get a lot of the grease and sand build up off of her. I have owned a few Lt's in my day but this will be my first hands on build. Yeah the clutch cable retainer is broken off the case and the guy jimmied the wire lol. Some peoples kids. Anyway I will keep the pics coming of my progress and my mistakes. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the positive feedback

yeah ill keep you informed. I only found one place that has a clutch cable retainer. Does anyone know if this is the only type of retainer made. It looks like it bolts to the clutch cover. Looks like it will do the job and if I paint it to match would look ok.
