Default got a question pleas help

just bought a 85 g model and just started riping it apart and noticed somting thats got me confused acording to some reserch its should be a 247cc but my jug has 249 on it is this right or is it not the the right engine because thay did not make a 249 till 96 acording to the book

Got any pics that would definitely help for sure. I believe my jug says 249 on it as well and its an 85. The easiest way to tell would be the frame (85-86 has a straight bar on the forward motor mount) (87+ has a wishbone shape on the forward mount) OR.... Look at the reed valve 87+ has one 85-86 reeds are under the jug.

You dont have anything to worry about, the 85-86 were 249cc, while the 87=92 were 246cc.
