Default Rear Brakes dead, what is this part called? Pics...

I have no rear brakes, originally I thought it was because the pads were gone. I installed new pads and there is still nothing, the foot arm just moves, there is no resistance, no pressure. I'm thinking it must be this piece, since there are only a couple of componants to the whole system. What is this piece called, the one that bolts to the frame? Thanks-Dan

They make rebuild kit for them for under $30, or you should be able to pick one up on ebay for not too much!!

Yeah, they wont bleed. I'm doing it by hand, but I'm gonna try a vacuum pump next.

Well, first I tried just bleeding them with the brake pedal, like I do in a car. No good. Now I have a vacuum hand pump and still get no fluid, not sure what is going on. What is the procedure for doing an ATV?

I just had the same problem on mine, the piston on the rear caliper was froze up. I broke that loose, cleaned it real good with some brake cleaner and bled it again with a vacuum bleeder and now it works great. It took quite awhile to bleed it but just be patient and don't let it slip off the bleeder or you'll have to start all over.

I'm pretty sure the piston is free, I had to compress it to get the pads in and back on the rotor. My pump only takes like 4 pumps then it's maxxed out, did you just keep on pumping?
