any thoughts on this...dont know what year yet.

are there any really bad years for this bike? whats the basic sell value of this bike?

I would think that to be a real good deal. They made them from 1987 to 1990. the 87 had a different head (and cylinder i think). there is no bad year. there was little change from 88-90. where i live they are hard to find and the motorcycle shops only know of 2 other people that own one. i would say they are usally around $2000 to $4000 dollars depending on condition. if its complete and runs i would say that it probly worth atleast $1000.

for $400 you can't loose. we'll unless its a pile of rusted steel! plus its probably already gone. any lt500r for that cheap will go fast. the parts in the engine alone are worth more than that to someone who needs them

what the sellar wrote to me "1987, alot of new parts, brand new engine, the frame has been all powder coated, no accidents, it has only been taken out once which was two weekends ago since new upgrades . found out water pump leaks just bought parts, but have not had time to replace, but I do have the new parts. the only reason for selling is I have a family of four which includes two small kids and need to invest in a buggie. I have fun but the family doesn't out at the desert."

Yeah go buy it no questions asked. I seen one sell for 1800 on ebay that was in peices and the motor didnt even run. I would buy it in a heart beat no matter what shape. Well I guess if it was thrown off a cliff I wouldnt buy it but otherwise it would be sold.

I'd still buy it for that price even if it was thrown off a cliff. I'm sure some things would still make the fall.....shocks, gas tank, tires, engine parts, carb. Buy that thing. You won't be disappointed no matter what condition it's in. -Jim Grouch
