Default rear brake caliper

my damn rear brake caliper keeps hangin up...anyone else come across this. thanks

Yup, bout the worst design ever made. And since the SAME caliper is used on about 50 other quads, those all have the same problem too on occasion. I eliminated that issue by modding a front caliper from a streetbike to fit. Took a bit of milling so, no, it isnt an easy mod.

Mine most likely fail so frequently due to the nasty areas I ride. The mud, sand, and debris in the app mountains wreaks hell on the rear caliper. I've never had any trouble on the front though. Kinda odd, that.

you need to clean the sliders and lubricate them with some non petroleum based grease. make sure the rubber boots are in good shape too. with some preventive maintenance you can get the brakes to last for a very long time

to free it up if your in a jam just put it in a vise get the piston all the way out by pressuring it with air. Then coat the piston with brake fluid and continue to work it in and out untill you can move it easy with your finger. Then make sure your sliders are free. it works in a pinch on even the most seized calipers.
