Default Lt500r TIPS AND TRICKS PLS.

NEED help!!
I own a 1987 lt500r that i drag race it is apart right now completly replacing all berings and powder coating the frame and a-arms also rebuilding top and bored 2mm over. also purchasing a cool head for it this quad has a duncan racing port job it has torque like crazy of the line but no rev. help! how much can you bore out the original sized sleeve and who makes a pistion for it. its alright fast now it holds its own at our local drag strip i beat banshes with boost bottles, piped and jetted but any thing over that i don't stand a chance people on the net say nothing can touch their Quadzilla TELL ME HOW!! any jetting secrets, gearing, any thing. Also a kid at school said he was putting a Turbo on his banshee i have never herd of this is it possible. Send any tips to zach_zebell@yahoo.com

A single cylinder is not a good canidate for a turbo. A bigger bore will not help you rev out any better either. Duncan probably set you up with about 30-32 degrees of blowdown between the exhaust and transfer so the only way to increase that and give more rev now is to raise the exhaust. Check you jetting real well though you could still be rich and just not revving out do to the fuel mixture. Call LRD and talk to them about jetting, I have always thought they could jet badass, Duncan always seemed to have their head up their ass when it came to jetting. In fact I think Loren Duncans head is permanetly up his own ass because its so big he will never get it out.

Screw those crazy prices charge for bearings. VXB on ebay sells all the bearings needed for the LT for about %10 of OEM or NTN prices and they're as high or higher quality.

be more concerned about the reliability and longevity of your motor ,over how fast you can make it for now anyways ,get trinitys head studs mod for the 87 ,id get boyseen pro reeds for the stock cages (port thoose too) id check for any play with the crank and air leaks when reassembled ,also under your intake reed box on th 87 (its huge) youll see that the base of the jug is only like 1/8 inch wide strip seating area there ,aplly small amount of hi temp headgasket silicone there its very suseptable for sucking air there ,i waded mylt 500r this way ,it warps under hi temps and will cause seizures in 5th gear! your freind at school isnt getting a turbo hes a liar, he read an article about a turbo while he was taking a shit on the pot and now hes an expert on turbo banshees! boostbottles do nothing on a she too.btw, oh yeah and theres so much bull shit on net dont beleive everything you hear ,zillas are torquey and are quick but usually fall to a moded she because they cant rev very high and
tend to fall apart on extreme motor setups
