Working on rebuilding my 90 LT500R and i have a couple of questions: Shocks: Had Works rebuild my rear, did a heart transplant and revalve/rebuilt so my question is front shocks. Dual rate springs or tripple rate and do I need rezzys or not. Im not really going to be doing much MX, if at all, more or less really aggressive trail riding. Pipe: Not much out there anymore, but was looking at the Trinity Stage IV pipe. PTR makes one, but at over 500 for the combo chomed, its a little more than I want to spend. I would rather not do FMF, so I figured the Trinity Stage IV race pipe would be the best choice. Carb: was thinking a 39PWK, but after doing some research, im thinking about a Lectron 44mm carb. Im having PR Racing (local shop) do a national port job (best they have) and the head milled. Im planning on running race gas and Klotz R50 oil. prolly 50:1. Ill post some before and after picks when I get it done! Thanks! Brian

The Trinity Pipe is made by Power Pros. I think their website is PowerPro.com or something similar. The pipe I hear is good. I have a DrQ pipe which is great. As far as your 50:1 pre-mix this is way to lean try 24:1. The Quadzilla manual calls for 20:1 but with the technology in todays premix compared to the late 80s early 90s You can run slightly leaner than 20:1. 32:1 is the leanest I would consider. Just remember Your ratio drops off at higher RPMs leaning the mixture. I like Maxima 927 for premix.

Awesome! http://thepowerpros.com/images/suzuki-lt500.jpg is the pic for the pipe, same as the trinity one, 70 bucks cheaper . In there catalog, it says full system, so im assuming that it has the silencer with it? I emailed them to see what they said.I think i used to run 50:1 in my Honda 250R and my old Suzuki LT250R. I can try 24:1 and see how it works.

Never seen a DR Q pipe. Have any pics? What do you like about it? Googled it and didnt really see much on it.

The pipe is the same. trinity puts their stamp on the pipe. I have a 39 PWK and I feel it is undersized for my Zilla. I've heard great things about lectron carbs. They are supposed to be very easy to tune.

Try WWW.QuadracerHQ.Com. This is Dr. Qs site. He is the guru that has many years experience with Zillas and quadracer 250s. His pipes are expenive but they are the best there is.

The Dr. Q pipe is the stuff for sure. Only problem is the price. It'll cost you over 600 to get it to the door, and it will most likely be a long long time before you get it, because he is always sold out. Some other companies to consider are Shearer pipes, and FTZ. I know my Q pipe was drop shipped from Shearer, so maybe he makes them for Dr. Q??? FTZ told me a couple years ago that they could sell me a weld up kit, to reroute their out of frame pipe to an inframe pipe. I considered trying that, but didn't. Other than the power pro's pipe, the only other good option is finding an old LRD pipe. They haven't been made in years, almost impossible to find, and usually bring dang near new price for a beat up pile, but they were a good pipe. If you were at all interested in an out of frame drag pipe, I have an old Trinity drag pipe, that is in pretty decent shape I'd sell cheap.

| Try RJatv right here on the site. He can get you a PowerPro's pipe a lot cheaper than you guys are stating. I bought one from him last month. The ONLY difference between the Trinity and PowerPro's pipe is Trinity chrome plates the pipe, PowerPro's nickleplates the pipe. There is little to compare with a Lectron carb. Super easy to tune and massive gains in throttle response. If you arent going to add some other engine work to take advantage of that big 44, you may want to reconsider down to a 42mm at most. I use a 40 with a ported top-end and am very happy in the trails. 44 is better suited to much higher RPM's. Dual rate shocks are a good bet for trail riding. Triple rate are over doing things. You don't need rezzies, but they do add some more plush to the ride. I have dual rates with res on the front of mine and be it moguls or big-ass jumps, I'm feeling fine.

you can always look for a good used PTR pipe to keep the cost down. they make a good pipe. a 39pwk carb does work well in a trail setup where top end is not all you are looking for. i would stay at or below 32:1 on your mix with race gas.
