Default Started to tear down motor on the new bike...(w/pics)

So I got it out of the frame today, and this is what I find.

Looks like it leaked water out of the head gasket, white residue around head.

Piston is new, like seller said. And it is HUGE, I thought I was working on a V8, but then I realized I was short 7 other cylinders.

Looked though the intake port, to see some of the internals. Looks like there is supposed to be some kind of washer on either side of the connecting rod @ crank, there is a lot of play.

And the connecting rod itself, looks rusty.

Here are the pics....minus the connecting rod. If I get some more tore apart I will post more....

SnowZilla is an unknown quantity at this point

You do not want to run it without the thrust washers.

Get the billet thrust washers from Q and get a RM250 wrist pin bearing (Part 4055-001 from BikeBandit.com). I would recommend Q's gasket kit as well. For the gasket kit, he needs to know the model year and bore of the cylinder. He may also need to know that it's a Cool Head so make sure you tell him that. Get ThreeBond 1104 for the gaskets (also known as Three Bond 1194, Honda Bond, YamaBond 4, Suzuki 99000-31010 and Kawasaki Bond 56019-120).

Also, how does the wrist pin look? A new one usually comes with the Wiseco piston kit but make sure you check it. If he re-used the old one and thrust washer wear is visible, just replace it with a new one.

Let us know if you decide to crack the case, there are other things that should be looked at and other things that can be done if you decide to go that far.
