Check the motor mount bolts first. You'll have to pull the clutch cover to check the timing on the balance shaft. Vibration is just something a zilla does. as far as the jetting, I have an FMF and boyesen reeds and a 39mm carb, the jet in mine is a 420. I am 700 feet above sea level, give or take

See that box at the bottom that says "forum jump"? select "manuals" and download the LT500 manual. It will answer most of your questions.
87 has a stock main of 420 and 88-90 use 380. All years came with 4 spare jets to play with for altitude diff's. They varied by 20's, 2-up and 2-down from stock. All years used the same stock TM style 38mm carb but varied on slides, needles, and jets.

i took it apart today and the counter balancer was of 180 and the nut that holds the two gears on the crank back off the threads the hole way and wore the case a little bit so now i have to clean the clutchs to get all the filing off them .so i guess it was a good thing that i had to check the balancer .
