Need Water Pump Cover

A few weeks ago my LT's front tire kicked a rock up, unfortunately it made its way to the water pump cover. After doing so, the quad proceeded to piss coolant all over my leg.

Now, it costs a good 100 dollars to get a new one, and I cant seem to justify spending that much on a quad that is just going to break again. Basically I have three options, I can either wait till one pops up on ebay, buy a new one or get the cracked one welded. Not quite sure what to do. Any insight?

Anyone have a spare that they would be willing to part with? (for the right price of course)

If it's just cracked you can probably get by with using an epoxy thats made for aluminum. Dont use JB Weld because it doesnt hold up to abuse very well.

I wouldnt trust any expoxy or anything because a water pump has to seal perfectly or else it wont pump right. Companys make them for the banshee for about 35$ billet in dennis kirk so maybe if you looked around you could find one.

My local boneyard has one for $35. I could probably ship it to you for $5 or less.

What kind of condition is it in? If you have seen it and know that its in near perfect condition, I may be interested.

The gasket surface looked fine, the paint looked like it was 18yrs old. But then, it IS 18yrs old so I guess thats perfect for an 18yr old part. Not really being a smartass, but it IS a boneyard part.

Ok, that sounds decent enough. I was just wondering if there were any deep gouges from 18yrs of boot scuff or in my case rocks. I am going to look around to see if anyone sells a billet cover, but chances are I wont.

i don't think you will find a billet cover for the 500. i've never seen one. if you do i bet you it would cost you up around $400. $35 don't sound that bad know huh!! and if you do find one post it i want to see it.

How much you think it would cost to have a shop weld the one I have now?

If you can get one in good condition for $35 I would do that rather than patching up your busted one.
