MinnZilla is on a distinguished road
Default Rear Axle Adjuster

I thru a chain last weekend and after evaluation I discovered that the cause was the two adjustment bolts for the rear axle snapped off at the point were they enter the axle housing. (allowing the chain to develop too much slack) I have ordered a new plate as the existing one fell off prior to the chain being thrown and I could not find it. Any ideas on now to get the left over bolts out of the holder for the axle. Any advice on the removal of the axle as I was thinking of replacing the bearings while I am into the rear end.

I had to deal with the same problem when I got the zilla last feb. I tried to use easy-outs but the threadlock Suzi used was too much to overcome. Hell, I even baked my carrier at 500 degrees for an hour to soften the threadlock. I ended up drilling them out and using heli-coils to rethread the holes. Havent had any problems since, the adjuster bolts work fine.

Another fine Suzuki design. I drilled out the old bolts and retapped the holes one size larger. Havent had any problems since.
