| What I always do is mix the fuel a little rich, ride for about 5 minutes at low to medium throttle, then stop and let it cool down. repeat this process about 3 times and you should get a good wear in. You can add a little throttle each run, but stay away from full blast until you get a few runs on it.

| For me I go full blast right off the bat. This gets the rings nice and seated. However for the zilla I wouldn't try that. I do that on machines I buy brand new because it's warranted and I don't care. For the zilla I would do the long break in 15 minutes idle (if possible get a fan blowing on the radiator) 30 minutes sit 15 minutes 1/4 throttle 30 minutes sit 15 minutes 1/2 thottle 30 minutes sit 15 minutes 3/4 thottle 30 minutes sit 15 minutes WOT 30 minutes sit When doing the throttle positions never hold it there get on and off the throttle over and over again. That is the true long break in.

All new bikes eventually become old bikes. All new bikes need to be broken in. And all bikes eventually need to be rebuilt.

| Well I have both and have many other older toys and my 03 banshee has been nothing but reliable. My old zilla was always an issue. The Zilla is sweet but you just have to put a little more time it to it than a banshee. The 500 just has a lot of known flaws that you need to put a lot of TLC into. It's just the nature of the beast. Just for the record I would love to have a Zilla again nothing compares to the arm wrenching pull

cant say the word "zilla" without saying the word "wrenching"..... lol they are fun no doubt ,but require more maintenance and getting alot harder to find goodies for too! id break in a lt500 the long way too l(in cool down cycles) ,its worth the wait bro , ive heard time and time again by tuners that almost all of a 2 strokes longevity and reliability is directly related to its jetting and its initial break-in period .
