Angry I Think I Blew Her Up

Well I think I toasted the 500 last weekend.

not sure but I can't get it to start for nothing. I took it out to the river bottoms in riverside ran a few strait line races won a few lost two but one was to a 2wheels and the other to a Banshee (BAD ASS ONE AT THAT) then I went out and did some trail riding with the kids and it started to booog dooown a little here and there. then it got real hard to start. then it just would not start towed it back brought it home changed the plug and still nothing compression don't feel like its gone but it don't feel right either.

now all I do is kick and kick and kick then back fire then kick again.

sound like the top end is gone to you guy's??

The 125 that im fixing up now was just like that it slowly started to bog down over time then it wouldnt start for crap then I bought it off the kid and took the topend apart and the piston was about to melt down but it wasnt there yet so no expensive cylinder work. Id say the piston needs to be replaced.

same thing happened to my lt a few years back. bogged down and dies, kick, kick, kick, kick, BACKFIRE! not great compression but it still had some. turns out it baked the rings right in to the piston so the piston would move but the rings were seized into it. did some minor cylinder damage but $35 at the local machine shop and i was bored 0.020 over and back up and running. had to do a new piston and rings though, just like you will have to. good luck and get her back up and running! cant be missing good riding days.

For chits and giggles check the flywheel. Timing could be off. I sheered my flywheel key in half but before it completely broke I noticed it would break up on the high end and bogged in the low end. I speedshifted from 1st to 2nd and it bog. Huh? 522cc's Bog? If that's all good then time to take the top end off. Cold have broken a ring and getting blowby. -Mark
