A great trade '87 Warrior for '87 Zilla

Well, I just picked up my 87 quadzilla. And got a great deal! I got the quadzilla and $400 in paintball stuff. And all it cost me was my 87 Warrior! The warrior was in better shape cosmetically, but left alot to be desired in the performance dept.
Supposedly the zilla had the top end rebuilt and on the first ride 3rd gear quit working. The guy I got it from bought it that way 3 weeks ago, rode it once and got scared. now he just wants something to plow snow with, so I was kind enough to trade him! lol

Any tips on the 3rd gear problem?
Also, it come with an extra set of rims and paddle tires, but the paddles were cut off to like an inch long. Why would someone do that?

umm might as well just take it all apart and split the cases and fix it now. No point in riding it just to have that 3rd gear screw up the rest of the tranny.

yeah, that was the plan. I might try to do it myself. If not, I know a guy that I can probably get to do it dirt cheap.

Got it home and took it down the rode and back and let me say "HOLY CRAP!!!"
that thing stands straight up in every gear with just a flick of the wrist! Even going 2nd to 4th 3rd is like nuetral, does nothing, not even grind.
Can't wait to get it fixed, that thing is a MONSTER!! can't wait to tear up my buddies raptor he's always bragging about!

probably gonna need new gears. the bosses on them might be worn off and not engaging.
