Question Cylinder size

I measured my piston and cylinder with a digital caliper and came up with these #'s and wanted to know what you guys thought. The piston was about 87.75 and the cylinder (at the top, couldn't take measurements in the middle) was about 88.10. Stock is 86(89 LT500), so if I did my math right, that would put it at about 80 over. I want to buy the next size piston and have it professionally done, but I suck at math, so does that sound about right? Thanks in advance for any help, Carl

I'm not exactly sure what the max oversize of the cylinder is, but take it to the machine shop and have it bored and let them order the piston based on the size.

I seen in a wholesale magazine that they had .140 over pistons available. That's huge. I know .100 is about 29cc's and .080 over is about 22cc's over. 87.5 is 60 over so you'll need to get a 88mm(.080 over) I believe. That's what I have right now. -Mark

yeah you can get a wiesco piston to .140 over. mines .100 over and needs to be bored again!

you should buy a piston before its bored. they bore it to the size of the piston.

Thanks you guys. Yea... I want to buy the piston myself cause I know you can get them cheeper than if you have a shop get it for you. I just don't want to get the wrong size.
