Question proting around Philly, PA

Hi all, I just got my first zilla, 87'. This is my second quad that i owned, I only been riding about 4mo. MY first quad was a 01 blaster. I'm looking to get some work done on the moter...proting/polshing, and I don't just want anyone Joe to do it. If anyone knows a guy or place that KNOWS about the zilla moter and knows what todo and not to do, please let me know.

Hi, I also have an 87 LT500. I am having EvilTwin from here do my cylinder. You dont want to go to crazy with the zilla because the crank bearings and bosses are underbuilt/poorly designed along with the rest of the engine in general. Over time excessive load on these stress components will cause the engine to destroy itself, but only if you go to crazy with your engine work, or if the engine has not been rebuilt in 18 years. Eviltwin has owned an LT500 and over the years he has perfected his porting. I have read a really good review on his porting job on an LT250r, and I will be glad to let you know how my engine turns out when he is done; however at the rate I get things done, its not going to be soon. LT500 porting is expensive if you send it out to some large company like trinity, CT racing or duncan, all which after porting and head mods set you back over 400 dollars.

I think you will find that some of those average joes will give you much more results for your money than the mentioned Duncan, CT, or Trinity.

yeah the small name guys and average joes are cranking out work far superior to the big name companys..... i mean do you really think they have big name engien builders touching every cyl. that comes to them for porting??? nope.. they have high school kids and the local ex-cons porting your cyls for about $8 an hour...... the builders just give the specs....... any 2 stroke savy builder can rough you out soem specs...... theres a fwe guys on E2S that will do youi some nicwe portign work..... and you'll be smoking your buddys with the overpriced and overrated trinty or CT engine.....
