Default Your Opinions Please

Hey guys, well i finally got to take my quad to Pismo Dunes, for the first time since all the work! I was THE fastest one there this weekend. I was probably about 6-7 bikelengths ahead of everyone at the sand drags! The problem that i am having is when i turn the bike off, gas leaks real bad at the bottom of the carb, making it nearly impossible to start this beast! If i turn off the gas before i turn her off, then turn it back on when i go to start it, it will fire usually second kick. I say USUALLY Think my carb needs a overhaul? or is there a piece of sand or dirt in there? Anyone else have this problem?

Does it kick back when you try to start it? Was it leaking on he very bottom of the bowl where the screw is or was it around the bowl where it connect it to the carb? Probably the leakage is making it hard to start. Take it apart and put new seals in it and try it. -Mark

I think SB is right. I had the same problem on my lt250r. A new needle and seat cured the problem. UA

Its leaking out the bottom nipple on the carb. It will drip if it site for a while then stops leaking. Then if i shake the bike a tad bit it will come out the bottom some more. It runs awesome when it starts lol!-Thanks for all the fast replies!

yeah, mine would only leak if you rocked it. i could never get it set right though, even after i replaced the needle and seat and adjusted the float to specs. it will still do it.
