Question TRX250R motor swap?

whats up? ok so heres the deal i just cracked my second case half in two years on my 86 TRX250R. i love this motor when its running good but it has honestly given me a shitload of aggervation. the rest of the quad is in awsome shape and now im thinkin about an upgrade. i took the 250 motor out and before i go through all the bullshit of splittin that case again and buyin new parts i started to ponder putting a bigger motor in there. what im cerious about i guess is does anybody know of an easy engine swap for more power with minimal alteration to the existing chassis? i know u can make just about anything fit in there but im a college student and funds are kinda limited and im shootin to have this thing up and runnin by next spring. im considering any sugestions at this point i just want to go faster! thanx

well if you wanna stay with a 250cc id say get the counterballanced tecate motor from the 87-88 T4, they are the most powerful 250cc atv motor available, well unless you get one from a tiger 250 but that would be hella pricy. i you wanna get a bigger motor put a zilla motor in there and if you wouldnt mind the crazy vibrations you could stick a cr500 or kx500 motor in it.
