| Well first of all, Your motor is too lean if you are constantly burning pistons! What kind of carb. are you using first of all? what kind of drag racing are you doing? Dirt, Asphalt? How long is the track that you are running at? Once you have the alky set-up properly, It is very reliable! I have 2 1/2 years on a single top-end without even re-ringing the motor!

| I hope you did not decide to advance timing with that motor?? Where is the damage on your pistons? I agree you are lean and you might have the timing off as well. Brandon |

| I hate to insult you but, If you can't figure the alcohol thing out, What makes more secure running NOS? In my opinion, Alcohol is a lot more forgiving than NOS. Like I told you before, your jetting is waaaaay too lean. That is why you are burning holes! Are you running a fuel pump? What kind of distance are you running? 300ft, 1/8 , 1/4 ? What carb are ycarb you running? In my opinion, Throw that carb out and buy a Lectron! That carb is bar-none the most consistant drag carb to run. Dial it in and you are done! Also when was the last time the crank seals were replaced? You might also have a vacuum leak between the cases and the cylinder!

| Not sure he is so lean as he may have a problem pulling the bowl dry. That will get you every time. If the bike pulls hard and then goes flat, that is a "sign". Brandon |

Obviously it would go lean. My point was that jetting was mentioned and may be dead on. Most hot 500s require a pingle or high flow fuel valve and sometimes porting the fuel passage in the carb. You can also install a mechanical fuel pump very easy and that will cure those problems. Brandon |
