Default How do you break in a new top end?

I know theres an endless number of ways people say that is the right way to break in your new motor...what are some of your guys methods???

in dirt bike magazine i read that u should fire your bike up let it warm up ride it around nice and easy for 10 minutes then shut it off and let it cool down and repeat 3 more times the rebuild in the article was done by eric crippa of honda motorsports

I run two heat cycles kust blipping the throttle at idle. Then a easy 10min ride. Then wot for the next 2 yrs lol. The key is allowing it to cool completely between heat cycles. No extra oil or anything different from your actual riding conditions

damn, I normally break my motors in for at least 4 hours. I ride for 20, let it cool and repeat for the next few days

you know, in my honda manual they give you some ungodly figure. Like a 10hrs break in period. Alot of people do it differently. I have never had a problem

start it, run it for a few. ride it up & down my street a few times go into all the gears then park it wait a hour or two then start it & let it run rev it a few times shut it off then next time i take it out riding, take kinda easy for a little bit....then just get on it & go balls out...

In the honda manual i have it says like 100 hours or something!

first thing you want to do is make sure your bike isnt in gear then start your bike from there you want to hold in the clutch drop it into first give it full throttle and dump the clutch. that should break you in real quick
