heres a pic of my head, seems its got some fairly deep holes in it.

what couldve caused this?

haha if i lived in america my cylinder would already be in your shop :P

unfortunatly i live in australia.

is it possible i could strap it into a lathe and cut it away?

I would also pull the cylinder to make sure those rings didn't break & possibly cause the pitting.

climb is right, pull the cylinder because we have all seen a ring take a dump and it looks just like that.

check the crank too, looks like maybe the lower rod"s thrust washers let loose

Nah the cylinder is fine, the rings are in perfect condition.

not too sure about the thrust washers tho, i checked for up and down play in the lower bearing and theres no movement.

ill post a couple of cylinder pics it needs a bit of honing but thats about it

Wow.. what could of caused it? Something had to! Any debris laying around in the header?
