Back to the begining. Two diferent set ups for two diferent purposes. Niether would work in the other ones specialty. IE don't run a top fuel tranny in an IRL car or vice-versa.
Mx rides use a slipper to get out of the corners in the right rpm range. All of these pros have and can do the same thing with their clutch handle. Thats why they are the Best. But technology has made it easier for them so why not.
Cut trannies and lock out clutches are designed for extreme horsepower bikes. These bikes have proven that even the best clutch and heaviest springs will still slip. Can these guys ride without one. YES but again why?
Set your bike up the same way we all do. TO MAKE YOUR FACE SMILE AND YOUR ASS PUCKER!!!

seems most slow quad riders(aka fourpokers) have the same common complaint that drag racing is just lame and only about money..well to us theres more exhilartion lining up against the compettion i n a raw battle of al l out brute muscle to the finish for the bragging rights ...to me jumps and trees mud pits and curves are fun for play riding but they dont offer that fast shot of adrenailine like pitting one on one for certain victory or certain defeat i n a all out battle of screaming horsepower ,mx.freestyle tracks are made for dirtbikes ,i bet if you give one of the pro riders a bike thats designed way wrong for a mx track liek a banshee and have hi m race you that youll still get your ass whipped ,why ?not becuase of the machine ..but becuase your discipline has little ot do with a built powerhouse engine as yo u claim makes a huge difference doug gust coudl whip your ass on a stock z400 but id assume youd then tel lus a stock z400 has 63.6 horspeower lmao

oh no i compleatly agree witht aht, put gust ona 250ex and he'll probably find a way to beat me

i have a dirtbike, and i have quads, ive ridden them both on mx tracks, and i personnally just think that quads are more fun, and if you look at the lap times for the pros there normally about the same as the bikes, for a while i think at lorreta lynns jerimiah jones held the track record for quads AND bikes

and lastly you said you liked dragging because you got bragging rights...cool so you dont care about the ride its just so you can say to your friends that your faster

and you think that jumping a 100 tripple isnt an adrenalin rush?

Drag racing as well as MX, hare scrambles, enduro, supercross, supermoto or any flavor of ATV/dirtbike competition cept freestyle and the like all have the same goal
TO BE THE FASTEST
TO FINISH FIRST

I guess they are all pointless?

well what im saying is yes in the end the goal of mx is to win, but while your doing it, its fun as hell which i just dont see happening in dragging, and you said mx was for bikes, when i think of drag racing i think of cars and streetbikes, not banshees, dragging quads just doesnt make sense to me

Haven't watched very much mx quad racing but the dirt bikes seem way faster and jump higher and farther.
Very much like sno-cross racing, snowmobiles seem more like quads when watching them.
But I am positive its a blast to race MX with quads infact any kind of racing is fun.
Everyone just finds their style that suits them, but at 42 years old MX is out of the question for me.
But blasting around the sand dunes and drag racing is what fits me.
And honestly you do not have to have a super fast bike to have fun racing, just pick the guys that are in your league.
There is more of a rush driving something that wants to pull your arms out of socket, but the actual race for me is no more exciting than when I rode a stock 250r lining up against 10 other 250rs at the dunes.

But this is probably hard for you relate to since you ride a SkiDonkey.
