Default heat issues,idead,think theyll work?

well i live in mohave valley,az,and it gets an average of 118 here every dya in the summer and i wanna ride so bad like everyone else is,but yes its a 4 poke but its aircolled,my 400ex.

well it has the oil thing right in front so the air hits it,and thers a tiny radiator like 1 inch tall lol.

i was thinking possibly running dual electric fans mounted infront of the motor and running the wires against the frame where you cant see them in some nice tape or soemthing to a chrome switch on my handlebars ot flip them on when i want.
think that will work to help cool?
or should i try and put the cooling system off an old streetbike on it???
since the shit on the streetbike is compacted cause there aint much room...

whats the heat issue?

I would suggest trying to track down or make a bigger oil cooler work. as far as the engine cooling fins themselves, just make sure theres not crap built up on them, you need to keep clean as much of that surface area as you can and other than that, you cant make that aspect of it any better....air movement from a fan isnt going to be any different than air movement while riding. In fact, you may even make it worse by blocking off the airflow in front of the engine if the fans werent on all the time. considering the fact that the oil cools that engine just as much as the air cooling fins, i'd go for a bigger oil cooler. Also, putting on fans may open up a whole new can of worms as far as amperage draw off the stator...

oh holy crap.
i never thought of that.

what do you mean by keep the cooling fins clean?
does that actually matter if there dirty?i thought they were just fins to capture air though them and keep the motor cool?what does them being dirty do?

do you guys think an inline cooler of osme sort would keep it pretty nice and cool?

im gonna invest or find like one off soemthing else a bigger oil cooler,

i meant like super dirty like mud and junk completely closing them off. I've seen them like that before, people that do no maintenance and wonder why their shit's broke all the time.... the fins make extra surface area to aid the cooling process....think of it this way, what melts faster, an ice cube, or crushed ice? the crushed ice has more surface area so the temperature can change faster.

So anyways if the fins are packed with crap then air cant get where it needs to be.

Drawing straight from the battery isnt going to change anything....the fans will draw the same amount of power no matter where you get the power from. I'd save the fans as a last resort.

shit dude...118 is a BIG difference from 100.
especially as its dry heat here.

i know it sgetting hot as i went to the river after riding quite a while and the exhaust was turning a different color a bit,its NEVER been that hot ever before.
and through my riding pants i ca feel it burning my leg,and iof i ride it a TOn when it hot out i can feel a little less bottom end,but when its cold out, that thing runs like a raped ape for a 4-poke that it.

it may just be running lean if the exhaust pipe is changing colors.....have you checked the spark plug color lately? I know its a 4 stroke and they're not as finicky as a 2 stroke...but could still be a factor.

as far as an inline cooler....that thing just uses a little tiny like 1/4 inch steel line for the oil cooler right? if so, I dont know of anything inline that will help
