Bike for newbie

A buddy of mine is looking to get into bikes, and wants my opinion of a starter bike for him. I started on a KZ900, so I don't know what to tell him. He wants a cruiser, not a crotch rocket. I told him don't go higher than 1000cc, if that high. Any ideas? He's not particular to years, either. I would have sold him my 900, but I got rid of that 5 years ago

Has he ridding much before. I just rode my buddies CBR926 & that thing was the most powerfull machine I had ever ridding. I had it at 150 mph will all kinds of throtel left to go. I had to slow done cuz I was clinchen my teeth so tight it was starting to give me a headach. Thats the first crotch rocket I have ever ridding and I diffenetly wouldnt recomend something like that for a first bike. Id freaking hurt myself on something like that. As far as cruzers I looked a a yamaha warrior (think thats the name) Their over 1000cc but look sweat and also have the crotch rocket front end but their still a cruzing bike. Very resonable priced too.

I would not go higher than 1000cc, once you get over that it just get rediculous and in my opinion you dont need unless your racing... Im not one to go over 80mph in an un-controled environment unless its like a drag strip or track. because i had a friend killed just doing 85mph and anohter one seriously injured wen he hit a deer on the street, who promises never to ride a bike again. But there are soem people like that and i think a 600cc is a great bike for anyone, they are plenty.. but my favorite bike for a cruiser that doesnt look like a old mans bike, would be a ducati monster 620...there realy sporty and in my opinion are a hybrid between a cruiser and a cock rocket. i think the flat black ones are awsssome looknig

damn, i never knew they made those.. there pretty cool lookin and look fun... But look to be very hard to find. Do they make any other 2stroke cock rockets
