| They look like a pretty cool nike for being early 80's. plus 600$ is a heck of a deal for almost any bike or quad in my opinion. Doesn't saound like it needs much work so I would say go for it! If you are concerned with your insurance, give them a call and see what kind of qoute they give you, then it won't take you by surprise!

| I don't know about your state, but here in NY if you are old enough to drive (16) then you are old enough to purchase your own insurance, young drivers just pay a very high premium, which is why a lot of young people get on their parent's insurance until they are 18 or so (not that the price drops much, at least not in NY), but by then at least you can get a job and afford it ![]()

| as for the mpg my r6 got anywhere from 35-50 depending on how hard i riped on it. and motorcycle gas tanks are not that big. usualy around 4-4.5 gallons, and you will most of the time only use 3.5 gallons between fill ups. unless you like running out of gas. i think you will be surprised at the cost of insurance for bikes. i was expecting at least $200.00 a month. then i found out it was only $25.00 a month. but it all depends on how your insurance company rates motorcycles. some do it by cc's and others do it by the style of bike, touring, cruiser, sport and so on. mine was rated on cc's and the r6 being a 600 i got a good rate. another thing you might want to look into if your able get a motorcycle licence. i dont know how it is where you live but in oregon you have to be 21 unless you take a three day motorcycle taining corse. and even then you have to be 18. just something to think about.
