I would get a 125, the 250s are overwhelming for inexperienced riders.

Its a lot easier to be competitive on a quad. Most dirt bike racers start at a very young age and work their way up the classes.

quads dull in comparison to dirtbikes in term of rider experience needed, goin from a blaster to a 125 should be good for you, nomatter what size and weight you are.

I use to race in the 85cc class and im worried about out growing the 125 But is a 250 totaly out of the question? and Ive alwase thought the blaster was pretty slow with lots of room for improvement even tho i put some but not a lot of work into it. so what brand (03 or newer) 250 or 125?

I would'nt go any bigger than the 125cc right now. You may think you can handle it, but you more often than not end up hurting your self.
Personally I would go with a KX125.
Once you have mastered that 125 then move to the 250cc.
