dunno if you problem got solved but here you go.

Make sure the glow plug is still good and the glow plug heater is still working.

If you screwed with the needles, adjust them to factory settings it came with. It should start up but a tad rich. Lean till you get it right on the high in needle.

A hole in the fuel line and/or tank can cause crazy running of the engine but it should run with that problem so i dont believe it is catching air.
