Rc car not starting

my firend got a nitrous rc car and drove it for a while now he cant get it to start and i just rtelized this site has a rc section anyone know why it might not be saterting ill find out more tommrow about it brand and etc i know it has an easy start it just cranks but never starts

sometimes you can almost get it to start it will go a couple of times but never starts all the way

Your talking about a traxxas rc ...Tmaxx i take it..Well i have a few "NITRO" rc trucks(including a tmaxx) and it sounds a bit rich on the low speed needle (the one on the barrel of the carb) NOT where the fuel line goes into the carb. Try turning it clock wise in ,in quarter turn incraments and go from there or if not set the idle a bit higher . Dose it spit fuel out the pipe when starting or nothing at all?

i dont think it spits anything out and we have tried that adjustment

glow plugs almost burnt out, install a new one and it'll start up.

well, first check the Glow PLug, and then check the plug if it glows or no.. Afterthat you can start the RC car, and if it didnt start, then you have to do some adjustment for the the carb.
1. fully close the needle valve
2. Open it 2 to 2 1/2 turn
and then start it again.. it should start.. After that do the tuning again

ok i dont know much about them what are the glow plugs?

its like a sparkplug..thingy sticking out of the head

these motors run kinda like a diesel. there is no plug wire or ignition system. the glow plug is kinda like a spark plug but it needs to be "warmed up" before you start cranking on it. some rc's come with a igniter built in allong with a starter. this seems to be the settup your friend has. take the plug out and connect it to the igniter and see if it glows (gets hot) when your cranking it over. if not then you need to get yourself a new glow plug.
