Default problem with losi xxxnt

ok this nitro truck has been sitting for a yr.i got frustrated and lost interest in it so it sat.i remember cleaning air filter and the carb came off i had trouble getting it to realign or somethin i forget.so today i figured clean it up try to start it.i emptied fuel and put in fresh and started to pull.there cwas nothing there.i dont know if the pull starter is stripped or if i have no compression.ive never really messed with these lil engines but i am pretty mechanical.i also have a parts list for the motor that came with truck.so if anyone could help me track down the problem, hopefully i can just order the part and fix it without having to get a new motor.i have a streetbike i need to fix to sell so i can build a quad.i also have a pocketbike for sale.so yeah rc truck has been on the back burner.if i fix it i dunno i might sell it.so any help guys?

Umm well your one way bearing on your crankshaft might be broken so take your pull start off and check and see if your one way bearing works if not you will have to order another one, it also could be your spring in your pullstart that is broken or sumthin like that but i dont know it also could be you have no compression but you would still feel the piston go up and down so i dunno you will have to take the pullstart off and investigate

well i took it apart and cleaned it .it was real dirty with lil stones mixed in from baseball field type mud.somehow i guess the head came loose or whatever the piece on top of the pistons called on that tiny impossible to work on motor lol.so i took engine out of chassis and cleaned it.when i put it back together had great compression.so i cleaned and oiled air filter put my igniter thing on charge for a couple hrs.it wouldnt start though so im chargin overnight if it dont start tomorrow i think i need a glowplug it was black and oily.thanks for the help

glo plug is ok but i couldnt get it started.i was holding the pipe when i pulled to try to prime it that didnt work too well.i opened the throttle trim up and finally got it to start for 1 sec and stalled as fast as it started.well i pulled and pulled finally pulled the damn cord out.so now i gotta take that apart and then im guessin go back to factory carb settings.oh when it started for a sec it dumped out a bunch of fuel from the pipe.i never really got to know this thing so am i on the right track or anymore advice?i had to walk away from it for awhile was frustrating the hell outta me.

Thumbs up

well i deffinitly know how damn frusterating those things can be, well change all you carb settings back to stock settings, and when you notice that the fuel just gets into the carb from priming it thats good otherwise you will flood it and if it floods which it will from pulling it a million times you need to take the glow plug out and pull it a few times and usually all the fuel will come out the head and then put the glow plug back in and try again and also when you are trying to get it started do you have the electronics on and the throttle on a bit ? because that little bit of throttle is usually what gets it goin anyways if ya have anymore questions just ask again

Fuel last for years if stored right. Mines about 3 years old and my car runs fine with it.

As for the spring troubles, i hasd that same problem too. Took me forever to fix the darn thing.

I dont know if i read wrong but if you left fuel in it for that long, it's a very bad thing. It breaks down and stuff. You might have to take apart the engine and carb to clean everything. Normaly, you would want to use after run oil after each day's runs are complete.

since it has been sitting for a ling time, you probobly have an air leak. remove the carb, put some rtv silicone around the throat and slide carb on. but don't tighten it yet. let it sit for an hr, come back and push the carb a little harder down and tighten. let it sit overnight and see if that helps. also get some carb cleaner or wd-40 and clean the carb out and clean out the fuel tubing and fuel tank. hope this helps. I own three of theese pesky little bitches. I undersand the frustration.
