What do i need to get started. new Tmaxx 3.3?

i am working on geting a 3.3 Tmaxx soon.

what sort of goodie bag do i need to make up?

like a gear bag or tool box of crap to go allong with it.

i never had a gas car before.

i am old school ,28 years old. i used to have cars and trucks tamia and traxas, like the grass hopper, the frog,black foot,hellwig,ninga,POS FX10 futaba junk,and a sledge hammer it was nice.bolink nascar looking thing.i allways wanted a tamia clodbuster.

but this Tmaxx 3.3 looks like the thing to get. it is bad to the bone.

i just wunder if i should have stering knuckels and drive shafts , servo savers and steering compontents. and i dont even know about what nitro parts ? glow plugs and other thing? who knows what?

and how are these trucks? are they strong enough to take a beginers abuse?

i am sure there bad @$$. but do any of you want to elaberate what you think of them.and also give me any recomendations?

I just sold my car not to long ago. Hpi savage 21. I thought it was better than the tmax when i got it but i dont know about the new ones.

I abused the f*ck out of it and never had no problems. I ran 2 things of break in gas through it instead of 1 and then just ran 20%.

I have jumped it 20ft and landed upside down and not hurt it. 2 years of everything i could through at it and nothing ever happend.

I only changed the glow plug once, after sitting for year, and i dont think it even needed one.

You should carrt 1 xtra glow plug, 1 glow plug wrench, maybe some extra batteries, allen wrenches, and a few common size sockets and you should never have trouble.

i havent baught anything yet i am looking for a bad @$$ monster truck . i will buy used on Ebay, i have no idea what is good or not. but i like the 3.3

break in the motor, do not jump to mixing hi nitro mixes. it will burn out quick. my bro made that mistake so its better to be patient ha unless you got another 500 to blow, just have a bunch of extra steering and throttle servos and it should be good, and upgrade your suspension. or atleast make it alot harder than it is stock. so the abuse on your frame is nt so bad.

My original plan was to get the tmax but they were out of stock and would be 2 months. He had 1 savage 21 (the newest at the time) and then they would be gone for a month.

I got the savaged i thought it had much better frame / suspension. The only bad thing was it needed stiffer springs (cheap to replace). The tmax was faster but i think it was manily gearing. I think they had about the same hp. I would recomend the savage cause i had such great luck with it. I am 99% sure it would wheelie with stiffer springs in the rear, other wise the back just drops when you nail it.

The savage 21 is rated at 2.3 HP
The savage 25 is rated at 2.5 HP
The Savage 4.6cc is rated at 2.9HP!
I cant find hp specs on the tmax, the must not want people to know.

If i were you i would get a savage ss4.6 but if you cant afford it go for the 25.

That 3.3 on ebay does look sick though. I like blue / black head. The K&N filter is an easy mod that i would recomend. You just get a hose and clamps + a breather for chevy valve cover from auto parts store.

i have been looking into all of them. i am leaning tords the savage. it is 1/8 i like that and it seems tough from all teh reports.

i got this one. and tons of extra parts. and i have been buying S loads of stuff for it on ebay all week. and i got 3 bodys for it. all sorts of stuff. and fuel and tool box and little goodies. everything, axles, bulkheads, A arms, shafts. knuckels , you name it. heavy duty steel servo. extra servo. servo savers. shocks. tierods.
fuel pump. thr works. extra rims and tires. drive hubs. after run oil. stuff stuff stuff. i loaded up. i got a bad @$$ F-350 superduty body.

here is my truck. i have not got it yet. i am waiting for it to come in the mail.

Awesome. Now go buy a tuned pipe for it. CVEC used to make awesome pipes and im not sure if they every made a stinger pipe again for the new tmaxxes but those were hands down the best pipe on tmaxx scene.
