5 hp? for how long? I have yet to hear anything but the mainstream opinions like "it's pretty quick" and "it runs good". How about "it beat my savage with a picco .27 11 port in it." BTW, picco only rates that tiny beast at 3.9 hp at 38k.
my opinion is if you need a .77 to make 5hp then it's a heavy piece of crap and the truck is probably not thought out any better than the powerplant.
Here's how i pick out a model: go to the track and watch a hundred wrecks.
When you see a stock savage hit an aluminum tmaxx head-on at full speed and LIVE, then you'll buy a savage, too.

i ride r/c since im 15, i agree, if they need a .77 engine to make 5hp is crap, the weight of the engine for those extra 1.5 hp (aproxx) compaird to a .21 or .25 or .27 when these engine only wight less than one pound, i bet you could get a .27 way faster than that junk .77 my 2 cents...

i have a HPI 3 around its been like 2 year without use becouse is built more for drag rancing and nobody wanted to race with me, it has a .25 power plant, custom exahust, 2 speed tranny, centrax clutch (ajustable for holeshots) big drag foam tires in the rear and small on front its still on 4wd becouse it wont go foward in 2wd i say this thing has power and i mean alot of it and more when you run it with 60% race fuel, its my little baby toy it only weights like 4 pounds maybe so, my atv is my big boy toy...

Hey everybody, it's a 7.7........a .77 would be 12.6 cc.....and yes, an engine 1/2 the size will make 5 hp..........But you'll pay mucho dinero for it.........

still the weight only will gain does extra HP+, my .25 pumps out 3HP at 38K rpm and only weights like 14oz i bet ill beat the hell out of that thing...

I am building a savage and its gonna have a sts .28 They motors have 3.9hp and tear up stock parts like crazy . .32's are passed by becasue they totaly destroy anything thats not titanum. Why would you want 5hp it wouls never find the ground.

The best truck IMO is the savage. it a great all around truck. You can beat the crap out of it and it will keep going. Races well too.
