Starter Truck

I'm looking at Nitro trucks and buggies to play around with, had some ?'s:

1. 2WD or 4WD? Mostly be using it in dirt, mud, or sand
2. Electric start, or pull start? Which one's less prone to failure?
3. Best stock durability? Don't want to have to mod the thing just yet....

Hey ed....you would def want to go with 4WD truck especially if your going off-road with the truck and even on road 2WD can be a little a sqiurrley on you....well the starts they have are pull which can suck and break easier and roto start which is alot easier to use.....as far as best vehicle for off-road i would go with the HPI Savage X SS...it is a newer model and is a good off road truck....it has some pep to it and comes with some hop-up parts already on it standard....or you can go with a rally type trucl like the mt2 and make it real fast if you want...but is not as good for off-road as the savage is....there is also tons of stuff to upgrade for these trucks including a nitrous kit from nitrous express....which is pretty bad ass

I'm kind of leaning towards these stadium trucks.....any of them 4wd? I don't plan on running in any real deep shit, and I'd like it to be able to jump w/ out breaking things on the way down......any thoughts?

well then the mt2 ss would be good for you....it is a truck but sits a little higher then the regular cars do....you can jump an mt2 but i would make some of the parts alluminum b/c they tend to break easily with the right impact.....that is on any car though...they are mostly plastic so things will break if you crash it or land it wrong....

hell yea....lol...nitrous express makes a sweet kit for the savage(which is a bigger tank) and for smaller cars and trucks which has a smaller tank.....a friend of mine has it and his car is bad ass....has about 5 hp with the nitrous....the car hauls ass but is very hard to control do to the speed

thats insane were do you get the bottle filled at a regular fill station?

well the smaller kit has botttles that resemble Co2 tanks for like a BB gun....so once you use it you just throw it away and buy more....there not expensive anyway....and the bigger one i believe you can fill it at a regular fill station

What about a HPI Firestorm or a XTM X-Terminator 2?......saw the video on HPI's site of the Firestorm.........that little bastard rips..........

yea the firestorm is a nice little truck...it is new and i havent realy heard much about it but seems like a bad ass lil ride and the mortor is supposed to be pretty strong and fast...im not sure there is alot of hop-up parts for it yet...and it is rwd which IMO isnt that good in general for those RC cars b/c they tend to be hard to control...so i reccomend going with an 4wd car
