I have a traxxas rustler with an O.S CV 15 engine,,,i was runnin it earlier and all the sudden it reved really high..Now it wont go,,it just sits ther, no matter how high u rev it,,it wont move...I checked the TRANNY and nothin was stripped out,,,,but i dont know what else to check for problems,,,,,If you hold up the rear the wheels spin as if nothin is wrong,,but when u sit it down it wont move...but it tries to,,if its on a smooth, flat surface,,it kinda rolls,,but nothin special,,,I was wondering if any one of you guys are R/C x-perts and can tell me whats wrong

Did you check the diff , if you didn't you can check it by putting the brakes on and then hold one of the wheels and try to turn the other wheel you should not beable to turn the wheel without the brake slipping if it dose your diff is stripped or one of the wheels or wheel hexs is stripped . Also check all that the axles are tight and check that the slipper clutch is tight

slipper pegs in the spur gear needs tightening or replaced, or your clutch shoes are shot, or what rcdriver posted above.

He said he checked the tranny (part of the tranny on the rustler is the Diff)

What it is, is your Universal joints connecting to the differencial outputs on one of the sides is loose..... Its not a PosiTraction Diff so if one is loose it will spin freely and you wount even see it and the car will not move forward. So take your allen key and tighten both Dogs on each side of the Differencial, one is most probably loose or lost its lug.. remember when tightening them there is a flat spot on the output shafts and the lug screw has to tighten ontop of the flat spot.

Other things to check but i doubt you will need to:

put the car on the ground and rev it see if the spur gear is spinning, if it is and all your gears in the tranny are fine then you have to tighten the nut where the spring is by the spur gear, its too loose......

If the spur gear is NOT spinning when rev it then its your clutch, take off the Bell and inspect the clutch.

If your spur is turning and the nut is Tight then i think you need to go and re-inspect the tranny gears and Diff gears.

Cant believe im doing this here too LOL, have enough questions on the traxxas forum.
