| savage is 1/8th scale and the tmaxx is 1/10th with a smaller engine. Two totaly different things. I can put $2000 into a lot of vehicles such as a tmaxx and it can be very tough. But what i just said doesnt mean much. There's no better truck, it's all a matter of opinion. To answer the question that the thread starter made, get a 4WD. With the powerful engines the models come with these days, it's very hard to get traction with just 2 wheels sometimes. |

| go with an rc 10 gt!!! buggies are big bucks if you said you werent looking to spend much. Mines almost 4 years old now and still running on STOCK PISTON AND SLEEVE!. ive never even needed to go in there, beside the amazing powerplant this thing got, its a beast. nuthin breaks ever, rarley youl snap a shock tower or blow a spur gear, but cheap fixes, and parts are WIDLEY AVALIBE FOR THIS car. best thing about it associated all over the place and realtivy cheap. and fun to tinker ive got EVERY single part replaced and hoped up, all rpms arms, tie rods, etc..... for under $200!! so its is one hell of a car,a nd i also own a savage, had for a year, and it is currently in peices, too much work that thing is. rc 10 cheap, fast. and look which car is stil running? |

| Going to adress the first post. Always get a 4WD. The handleing on a 4WD is far better than 2WD. IMO, there is no reason to buy a nitro 2WD for offroad. I've had a tmaxx for about 4 years+. It came with the old shitty TRX engine. It worked fine. Remember, there is no replacment for displacement. That being said, it would steer me toward a model with a bigger engine. I've heard good things about the 3.3 tmaxx and revo. Research both models and see which one best fits your needs. There's videos all over the net where you get see how they perform if no one has one in your area. I wont ever steer anyone into a certain model over anything right now because i havent been in the hobby for a couple years but here's a link. http://www.rctech.net/forum/index.php That is a VERY good forum i used to go to reguraly. Like is said, research all possible models you want then buy one. Taking a few people's word for it is not wise IMO.
