we're home of some of the best coaldirt riding..

New philli..home to the impossible..(no dirtbike has ever made it up) huge coaldirt hillclimb..i tried..and no..didnt even get close..not many people have made it up..

Coal riding? Never done that. Does it get all over everything? What's it like riding in it? Does it pack or stay loose?

Hell yeah it gets on everything and in your lungs. That why they call it "Black Lung". Loose when dry packed when wet. Sorta opposite of a women.

I think my buddys old man would change the "impossible hill" Tim Cottle is his name. Use to be a professional hill climber. he has a triple straped in a cr500 frame. His guys garage has more thorphies then my school.

I can't believe I never saw this thread... I'm from Hometown originally and go back that way often to go riding. Usually start off around the bottom of 309 before you get on 81 and head either up towards Hazleton or out through Delano to Mahanoy City and Frackville.

I've been down 209 towards New Phili but not sure if I know about the hill you are talking about.

We call the old coal pits the silts. You get better grip than sand, but still can be a bitch near the top of the hills. I really need to get back home and get lots of pics of the places all around there. I think that's one of the best areas to go riding, period. Trails leading to open silt pits is just the best of both worlds to me.
