FL250s are basically a go cart. No suspension and do about 35mph. You can only run them for about a half hour and then it overheats. They also flip over every time you turn. The FL350 is better with decent rear suspension but its still air cooled and can run about 45 minutes. They do make a cool head coversion for it though. Now the FL400 Pilot is another animal altogether! It is liquid cooled and has great stock suspension. You can beat the shit out of it . On the East Coast they go for around $8,000.000!!! A lot of people put a snowmobile motor in a 350 to make it faster and more reliable. This is what I plan to do for my next project.

and fliping them is fun. i use to try to get thoughs things to roll back when i was a kid. the sad thing was that i couldent get the thing started afterward. i had to flag someone down and have them start it for me. shit, i must of weighed in at 60 or 70lbs. not nearly enough to pull the starter cord.

Yeah, hot summer days in Pennsylvania climbing hills and trail riding gets pretty rough on the engine.

Question

Well I found 2 FL250's for $600, and one not running for best offer price.Would these suit a 7 year old? Do they have adjustable seats? I need to buy the boy an off road kart of some sort

I would go with a 5HP go cart that has some suspension for a 7 year old. The FL250 WILL flip over all the time!!! For you or me this may be fun but a small child will not be restrained correctly. It is a very heavy machine with a less then protective roll cage. I had one with extra bracing and nerf bars but I still wouldn't let my 10 year old in it. The seat bottom does move but most of them stopped working years ago from what I've seen.
