400ex upgrades

i know i know im on a 2 stroke sight but if i went on a 4 stroke sight they would say retarded thing...but i was looking at getting a 400ex pretty nice one to but i was wondering what i would have to do so it can hang with my shee i think the one im lookin at has a 440 kit on it but im not sure about it so if you could tell me soem upgrades and there cost.

A 400ex isnt going to hang with a banshee.....

yea what he said, no matter what all you do, a 400ex is not gonna hang with a banshee. what kind of riding are you gonna do with the ex? like trails, desert, dunes, mx etc? a 400ex is a great all around 4 stroke bike. its proven, simple to work on and such, and its a great handling bike. it your thinking you'll be able to mod it to keep up with the banshee in a drag race then you'll just be wasting money.

just basic mods really make the 400ex a nice bike. I know puting a fcr carb from the 450's is like a huge difference for it. gives it alot of extra power and awesome throttle response. then your basic exhaust systems and such to let it breath good. I dont know much on the 440 kits, but ive always heard they make it alot less reliable, like it goes through head gaskets alot more often. then you got like idfferent cams and bigger valves an shit like that.

Dont do it, you'd be better off buying a nice blaster....400ex's are imo a decent all around bike...they are good for trails, the track, they even jump good...the main problem is the powerplant....cocky....lol
