Christmas Eve?

So who gets boned this year and has to work Christmas eve?????

Just today i found out that the company i work for changed handbook saying that everyone must work Christmas eve or no holiday pay.. its been the same for the last 9 years i guess... They neglected to tell everyone but instead posted a memo.
Now that i havent plans i get to skip out of that 16 hours of pay.. woooo hooo love Michigan.

I always have to work x-mas eve but, we generally do a 1/2 day which I think most places do. The cool thing is we wrap the day up with a nice lunch platter and a case or 2 of beer. I can't complain because a 1/2 a day is better than a full day !

I will be there christmas eve for 13 hrs, and christmas day for 12. Double time on the eve, and triple on the holiday. You gotta be crazy not to take that, its over $100/hr!!!!!

I've worked many a Chrismas eve for regular pay. I normally get an X-mas bonus though. I hate working that day. It seems everybody else is off but me.

well we are not getting paid time and a half double time or triple time.. ill be lucky if my check cashes.. kinda said but true.. on pay day its a race to the bank. first one there always gets paid hahaha. ... no christmas bouns and they cancled are little lunch party the people in the factory always have.. same thign with turkey day.. cancled.... employers are just going to crap fast. im only 19 years old and it seems to be getting worse.. so whats it gonna be like when im ready to retire o wait not gonna happen. cant make enough money to save. o joy.

on another note.. i am give my self the day off from my own company.. hahaha paid.

Well, If they keep on canceling the little things that make a workplace a little more pleasant during the holidays, then I would look for another employer that will appreciate their employees ! It sounds like a place that's ready to go bankrupt !

Hahahahahahahahaha lmao lol... i was thinking the same thing.. well this would be the second time then lol... Whats funny about the whole ordeal is the president of the company lost his last job because the company failed.. the Accountant of the compnay was fired for fraud from the amway corp here in michigan. The other account is just a liar. the HR guy is a limp ^$!$ two faced basta and the list goes on.. Mind you the company i work for has 11 guys in the fab shop and 6 people in assembly... A small company. and only 27 salary employess.

The 17 people on the shop floor are hourly.
