Talking Need Help! wont start!

OK, OK, OK...... i know that this is a two stroke site.... but i had a bit of good luck today! and i need some help....

Background -

There was a wreck near my house this morning... my little bro's friend had a head on collision with a honda civic... he was on a 1998 kawasaki 250 mojave... the kid was ok..... so was the driver of the car... the quad snapped its rear axle and broke its right front spindle, and ripped off its nerf bars.... the kids dad was so pissed that he had been out in the street (against his instructions).... he came down and said, "the quad was mine if i would haul it out of the street.... its in my garage now, and the key has somehow disapeared? nobody nows where it is???

Problem -

there were two wires in the back of the plastic thing where the key goes. i pulled them out and conected them together.... the bike will not start? are these ignitions "smart".... does it know i dont have a key? will i need to get one? or do i have another problem?

Thanks-

I would say it's the missing key issue. Of course something could have happen to the electrical system in the accident (CDI, magneto, coil). I would try messing with those wires first though.

ok then..... i gues i will just order a key and try again..... for reference though... is it possible, on a banshee, or a blaster, to conect the two wires and go? if this is possible.... it might lead me to believe that something else was messed up, in th wreck?

I deleted the key on my Blaster a long time ago. I can't remember if I connected them or not. Maybe someone else will chime in on this.
Did you try with them un-connected?

one last question! i know nothing about four strokers! the kid said he recently did some "self jetting, on it"..... should i worry? i know that improper jetting on a two stroke can lead to blown engines.... i recently had that problem with my girlfriends blaster!... will improper jetting on a fourstroke lead to these same problems? should i have a mechanic check out the jetting to be safe?

No problem Bro.
With 4 strokes you have to worry about running lean just like the 2 strokes. It won't seize up on you just look for it running too hot.
